[he's understandably guarded. that whole experience could have been worse, but it wasn't necessarily a good time, either. being drugged like that isn't his idea of a good time -- nor is telling a random stranger all about his tragic backstory. he is, however, at least willing to let Pegasus ask, even if he ultimately shoots him down, so maybe that's something?]

The alternate-friend's resident magician botched a spell and it pulled me and a number of others into that reality.

I'm well acquainted with magic. There's quite a lot of it in hell, in fact, so one doesn't really have a choice but to believe in it.

[could read the situation and make an informed decision. a human mind could correct the variance and bring the reaction back under control. it happened a dozen times in the simulations he ran -- things getting a little dicey, until he set them right. he unfortunately misjudged, in the moment, and it lead to disaster]
